FAQs
Questions we are asked most
Straight answers about the channel, the way we work, what it costs and how results are judged. If something is not here, ask us directly.
The channel
- What are ChatGPT ads?
- Advertising placements that appear within conversations people have with an AI assistant, rather than beside search results or inside a social feed. The customer has usually described what they want in their own words before any advertising appears.
- Is this the same as appearing in AI answers organically?
- No. This is paid advertising placement. Appearing organically in AI-generated answers is a different discipline, and we do not sell the two as the same thing.
- Can you guarantee our ads will appear in particular conversations?
- No. Placement is determined by the advertising platform and is subject to eligibility, approval and geography. Anyone promising specific placement is overstating what they control.
Advertising beauty and lifestyle brands on ChatGPT
- Can beauty and lifestyle brands advertise on ChatGPT at all?
- Yes. Mainstream beauty, skincare, haircare, fragrance and general lifestyle products aren't on OpenAI's prohibited list and don't fall into a restricted category needing pre-approval. Most of what a typical client sells goes through without special licensing.
- Are there beauty-adjacent products that need extra care?
- A few, yes:
- Cosmetic procedures. OpenAI's policy explicitly allows "minimally invasive cosmetic procedures" under its Health Services category, but that category is US-only and advertisers "may be required to provide proof of licensure."
- Supplements and wellness products. Dietary supplements sold through major retail channels can be permitted; supplements "marketed with unsupported health claims outside major retail channels" are prohibited outright, and anything with a medical claim can get pulled into a separate "Wellness Claims policy" review. Diet pills and detox products are explicitly banned regardless of retail channel.
- CBD topicals. Non-intoxicating, THC-free CBD creams or oils "may be permitted" — but full-THC or intoxicating cannabis products are prohibited.
- What's flatly prohibited that a beauty/lifestyle brand could trip over without meaning to?
- Unsubstantiated health or efficacy claims (the 'diet pills, detox programmes, supplements marketed with unsupported health claims' line), counterfeit goods (relevant if a client sells accessories or 'dupe' branded items), and alcohol/tobacco if a lifestyle brand's range extends to anything 0.5%+ ABV or nicotine.
- Does any of this only apply in the US?
- The regulated categories — health services, financial services, legal services — are explicitly US-only, and OpenAI's policy states ads for those categories outside the US are "generally prohibited." Standard beauty/lifestyle products aren't in those regulated buckets to begin with, so this mainly matters if a client's line drifts into cosmetic procedures or medical-device territory.
- Do we need to submit proof of anything for a standard beauty/lifestyle client?
- No — verification and licensure requirements are specific to the restricted categories (health, financial, legal). A normal skincare, makeup or lifestyle SKU doesn't require it.

Working with us
- Who owns the advertising account?
- You do. Accounts are set up in your name and we work in them with client-scoped access. If the engagement ends, the account, its history and its data stay with you.
- Do you work with brands outside beauty?
- Yes, within consumer products: haircare, skincare, makeup, cosmetics, fragrance and design-led lifestyle brands. We do not advertise healthcare, medical products, cosmetic procedures, supplements marketed with unsupported health claims, diet pills, detox products, intoxicating cannabis, alcohol, tobacco or travel.
- Do you produce creative?
- We coordinate creative with your brand or studio team. We are not a production studio and do not charge you as though we were.
- Will we have a named contact?
- Yes. You will know who manages your account and be able to ask them questions directly.
Cost
- How much does management cost?
- From £500 per month for ChatGPT ad management. It is a flat fee and does not scale with your advertising spend.
- Is advertising spend included in the fee?
- No. Advertising spend is set by you and paid directly to the advertising platform, separately from our management fee.
- Is there a setup fee?
- Yes. There is a one-off setup fee because of the complexity of setting up the campaigns and accounts. It depends on how many products or prompts you want to advertise — typically from £495 and never more than £995. It is separate from the £500 per month management fee.
- Is there a minimum term?
- Yes. The minimum term is 3 months. After that the engagement rolls monthly and you can leave with 30 days' notice.
Campaigns and results
- How quickly will we see results?
- We do not promise a timeline. Results depend on budget, range, product information and how the platform performs. We agree what success means before launch and report honestly against it.
- What is in the monthly report?
- Spend, the delivery metrics available from the platform, conversion information where measurement supports it, what we changed during the month and what we recommend next.
- What if the channel does not work for us?
- We will say so, explain why, and recommend a change — including stopping, if that is the honest advice.
- Do we need a product feed?
- Only where campaigns are genuinely product-led. Where they are, we help organise and maintain the product data behind them.
